Chase Ladies get demo on Christmas decorations
Helen Thursfield had come along to give us a demonstration on arrangements for Christmas.
Helen is a member of the Walsall Flower Club also on the rota for flowers at Lichfield Cathedral. She explained that at the Cathedral they mainly use silk flowers, but she really prefers to work with fresh flowers.
Helen talked about the issue with oasis which is not considered to be green enough. Work is going ahead on trying to find a replacement but alternatives such as chicken wire are not so easy to work with.
Helen completed two decorations which are shown below. She was thanked most sincerely for her interesting talk and advice on arranging flowers. She asked that her fee be paid to St. Giles Hospice. Her arrangements were then given as raffle prizes.
There was a reminder about final payment for the fish and chips at the next meeting and decisions needed to be made on the food choices for our Christmas meal at The Rag on 11th December.
