New bar and café partnership marks exciting new chapter for Kidderminster Town Hall
Kidderminster Town Council has signed a new agreement with Savva Bars, who will operate the Town Hall’s event bars and the new Courtyard Café and Bar.
The agreement was signed at the Town Hall by Matt Smith, Town Hall Manager, and Jess Savva, owner of Savva Bars, and was overseen by the Mayor, Councillor Doug Hine. The partnership marks another milestone in the Town Hall’s exciting transformation.
The Courtyard Café and Bar will open Wednesday to Sunday, offering a relaxed space for visitors to enjoy drinks, light food, and social gatherings. Savva Bars will also manage the event bars for concerts, weddings, and private functions throughout the year.
Mayor Doug Hine said: “This week's signing is a symbol of how far we’ve come. The Town Hall’s redevelopment isn’t just about restoring a historic building; it’s about creating opportunities for local businesses and bringing people together. The addition of Savva Bars will help ensure this beautiful space is lively, welcoming, and enjoyed by everyone.”
Jess Savva, owner of Savva Bars, added: “We’re thrilled to be part of this new era for Kidderminster Town Hall. It’s such an iconic venue, and we’re excited to bring our passion for great food, drinks, and service to both the café and the event bars.

The Courtyard Café and Bar will be a relaxed and welcoming place for everyone , whether you’re grabbing a coffee, meeting friends, or visiting one of the amazing events here. We can’t wait to open the doors tomorrow and start serving the community.”
Matt Smith, Town Hall Manager, said: “This agreement is another exciting step forward for Kidderminster Town Hall. The redevelopment has given us a truly flexible, modern venue, and now, with Savva Bars on board, we can offer our community and visitors a first-class bar and café experience to match. It’s yet another example of how the Town Hall is becoming a vibrant hub for culture, creativity, and social life in the heart of the town.”
The signing follows the completion of a major redevelopment project that has transformed the 170-year-old building into a modern, accessible, and versatile venue.
Upgrades include enhanced sound and lighting, improved acoustics, refurbished performance areas, and new backstage facilities, creating a space that rivals many professional venues while preserving the Town Hall’s historic character.
