This award celebrates her outstanding commitment to residents, compassion, and contribution to the care sector.

Megan had never worked within Health and Social Care prior to starting her career at Portway House but was a visitor of Portway House late in the year of 2023 as her dear Grandmother was a resident and experienced her End of Life Care within Portway. Megan stated that she was so absorbed about the level of care her Nan had that it sparked her interest in pursuing the career. Megan has flourished.

Successfully passing her probation Megan is already commencing her medication training and is looking forward to developing in her career

Megan shows that providing the little things to residents may seem a little thing to us, but to the residents are a massive thing that can impact them greatly. This being spending that extra few minutes giving a resident a drink who can normally do it themselves but are too tired for that day. Ensuring a resident’s glasses are cleaned properly before putting them on and making sure there are batteries in a remote control! Such small things, but things that the residents love her for.
