Aldersley High School students honour the fallen with silence and service
More than 1,500 students and staff at Aldersley High School came together in a powerful act of remembrance on Armistice Day, standing in silence to honour the sacrifices of those who served in past and present conflicts.
At 11am on Tuesday, the entire school community observed a poignant two-minute silence. The stillness across the site was deeply moving, with students displaying a remarkable level of respect, maturity and empathy during the commemoration. Headteacher, Mr Blower said: "It was a profound moment of reflection for our school. We’re incredibly proud of the way our students conducted themselves, a powerful display of the respect, community and compassion that define Aldersley.”
Following the ceremony on site, several of the school’s student cadets travelled to Bilbrook War Memorial to lay wreaths on behalf of the school. Their participation in the wider community’s remembrance events highlights the school's commitment to encouraging civic responsibility and cultural awareness among its pupils.

The annual observance remains a key part of life at Aldersley High School, offering students an opportunity to engage with British history, honour the fallen, and reflect on the importance of peace and unity.
"Lest we forget."
