This charity, which is celebrating 50 years of existence this year, provides help, support and activities for the area’s over 50s. The charity’s ultimate aim is to ensure users are able to continue to live their lives to the full by helping them to remain active, learn new things, receive advice and support, make new friends and enjoy trips out with like minded individuals.

The event is taking place from 3pm to 4pm on Friday, December 5, at the Elton Centre, St John’s Road, Stourbridge. It is a great opportunity for individuals to find out about this year’s performance, hear about plans for the future and meet trustees, staff and volunteers.

David Harbach, chair of trustees commented: “Age Concern is a lifeline for many older people living in the areas of Stourbridge and Halesowen as we provide so much help, support and opportunities for individuals to enrich their lives. Being older is no longer the sedimentary lifestyle it used to be - today people are living longer and they want to enjoy their later years. We not only provide advice, support and assistance, we also hold many events and activities at our lovely, tailor made building.

“It is important that users, and those who care about them, know about our charity. By attending the AGM they will be able to find out what we offer, find out more and ask any questions they may have at our Annual General Meeting. It is also a great opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering to come along, find out more and see our facilities.”

Light refreshments will be provided, and those who attend on the day will be entered into a free prize draw to win shopping vouchers.
