The reopening marks an exciting new chapter for the popular pub, with long-standing general manager Andy and his deputy Tammy taking on the tenancy.

Guests at the reopening will be able to enjoy taster dishes from the pub’s new menus, as well as live entertainment throughout the evening.

The pub has seen improvement works, refreshing key areas of the venue ahead of its reopening. The Flute & Flagon will also unveil a brand-new food offering, including a main menu, breakfast and kids’ menus, as well as festive and buffet options in time for the Christmas season.

Originally renamed from The Hogs Head in 2015, The Flute & Flagon has become a much-loved local, known for its friendly atmosphere, live sports coverage on Sky and TNT, regular entertainment, affordable food and drinks, and the warm welcome from its team.

As part of Stonegate Group’s leased and tenanted division, Andy and Tammy will now run the pub as independent publicans, benefiting from Stonegate’s support, training, and product partnerships, while shaping the offer to best suit their local community.

Andy and Tammy have a combined 50 years of experience in hospitality and have worked together at The Flute & Flagon for several years – Andy as General Manager for four years and Tammy as Deputy for three. The pair, who have been best friends for over two decades, say taking on the tenancy is the realisation of a long-held dream.

Andy and Tammy said: “We’ve both worked in pubs for most of our lives and always dreamed of having one of our own. The Flute & Flagon is a special place in a fantastic community, and when the opportunity came up to take it on ourselves, it was too good to miss. We’re passionate about keeping it at the heart of Solihull, continuing to offer the great service and atmosphere people know and love, while also having the flexibility to try new ideas and enhance what we do.”

Under Andy and Tammy’s leadership, the pub will continue to play an active role in the local community. The pair work closely with Solihull BID to support local initiatives and are committed to fundraising for different charities. Each year, they host a summer quiz and Christmas party to raise money for charity. Andy also organises group trips to Cheltenham Races, helping local customers enjoy experiences they might not otherwise have access to.
