Mr Booton, who is currently in his third year of teaching, is ecstatic at this opportunity: ”I'm thrilled to be part of the Leadership Fellows programme, where I can upskill, share innovative ideas with others in the same industry and work towards creating positive change in our community.”

He will join an impressive group of future education leaders from across the country designated as SSAT Leadership Fellows. Leadership Fellows are in their first four years of teaching; their headteachers have already seen their leadership potential. Involvement in the programme demonstrates Colton Hills Community School’s and SSAT’s commitment to developing the next generation of system leaders.

Headteacher, Ms Julie Hunter is pleased to add: “As a community school, we are proud of Mr Booton and what he has been able to achieve and the potential he has shown in the short time he has been with us at Colton Hills. It is a massive accomplishment for Mr Booton to be selected and we know he will go on to lead and deliver fantastic results in future projects for our school.”

Mr Booton will follow in the footsteps of his Colton Hills colleague, Mr C Patel, who was also offered a place in the same programme last year. Mr Patel said: “It is very encouraging that our Colton Hill staff are offered these chances for our career development. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and experience and wish Mr Booton all the best.”
