Co-op Funeralcare H. Goodwin in Newcastle, Staffordshire, has revealed a heartfelt display of hand-crafted poppies as a tribute to those who lost their lives during the war.

Created in collaboration with the community, the poignant three-metre-tall display features 957 handmade flowers, knitted, crocheted and crafted from recycled plastic bottles. These were assembled by hand by colleagues from Co-op Funeralcare H. Goodwin.

Community members are welcome to visit, reflect, and pay their respects in the lead-up to Remembrance Day.

Robert Connell, Funeral Service Manager at Co-op Funeralcare H. Goodwin, said: "We are grateful for the support and donations from the local community, which has helped us create this Remembrance Day display.

“Each year, we mark this day with the community, and their generosity has made this display even more meaningful and beautiful. We invite everyone to stop by, reflect and remember all those who served.

“We know Remembrance Day can also be a challenging time for those who have lost loved ones in the armed forces. Our team will be available throughout the day to offer a friendly chat and support to anyone who may need it.’’

Visitors are welcome to view the display during the branch’s opening hours between 9.30am - 4.30 pm. The team will also be collecting donations for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families.
