A labour of love: Baswich residents knit to remember

A knitted Remembrance installation is on show at Baswich Library, representing a collective tribute from the community of Baswich created to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. Each of these knitted items is the result of a collaborative effort, a "labour of love" contributed by local residents.

What began as an idea has blossomed into this moving display, with every stitch representing a moment of quiet reflection for the individuals behind the needles. The knitted display serves as a powerful reminder of the deep gratitude and unwavering respect our community holds for our veterans and the fallen.

As you view this tribute, please reflect on the memories it represents. We remember not only those lost in past conflicts but all who have served, including the animals who served alongside them, represented by the purple poppies.
