Lichfield Lions bring the cows home
Lichfield Lions are part of the Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to making a difference to their local community. On Saturday, September 13, the Lichfield Lions Group certainly made a difference to local Lichfield charity, Friends2Friends, raising £1,000 for the charity.

Lichfield Lions let the cows out into the field at Hall Farm for the annual CowPat Drop and watched intently for cow pats!
Raffle tickets are sold prior to the event enabling competitors to be randomly allocated a lucky square that the first cow pat will hopefully hit! The Lions visited pubs in and around Lichfield explaining the Friends2Friends charity and how it supports adults with learning disabilities, other vulnerable adults and their carers.
It is a unique raffle as rather than numbers, you are allocated a square metre in the field and the first cow pat to drop in that square is the winner! The lucky winner was from Shenstone and was able to choose between a £100 prize or the option to take home the ‘winning cow pat’ in an envelope (pre-dried of course!). Funnily enough he chose to take the £100!

The eight squares surrounding the winning square are known as ‘the splatter squares’ and people with these tickets receive a runner’s up prize of £10 each.
Lichfield Lions would like to thank everyone who bought a CowPat ticket and in particular many of the winners who donated their prizes to the charity.
