The teams at Specsavers Dudley and Blackheath organised the collection in support of the charity, which provides emergency food and essential items to individuals and families in crisis across the region.

Thanks to donations from customers and colleagues, boxes quickly filled with tins, non-perishable items and everyday essentials, all of which will go directly to the Black Country Foodbank to help those most in need.

Gurdeep Dosanjh, store director at Specsavers Dudley and Blackheath, says: "We’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness shown by our customers and our team. The Black Country Foodbank does an incredible job supporting local people who are struggling, and we wanted to do our bit to help. A small donation can make a huge difference, and it’s been fantastic to see the community come together to support such an important cause."

The Black Country Foodbank, founded in 2006, supports individuals and families in crisis by providing emergency food parcels and toiletries through a network of local churches and community groups. The charity also signposts people to further support services to help address the root causes of poverty and hardship.
