Families invited to celebrate the power of stories at Staffordshire’s Family Learning Festival
Families are being encouraged to come together this month to celebrate the Family Learning Festival 2025, a county-wide initiative championing the joy and benefits of learning as a family.
Running throughout October, the festival is led by Staffordshire County Council’s Community Learning team in collaboration with Libraries, Family Hubs, and local partners.
This year’s theme, ‘Story Power!’, explores how stories help everyone make sense of their experiences, understand others and imagine new possibilities.
The festival offers a wide range of free, family-friendly events across Staffordshire’s libraries, which includes interactive storytelling sessions, creative crafts, reading challenges and drop-in workshops.

Martin Murray, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills at Staffordshire County Council, said: “Family learning is a powerful tool that helps children thrive at school and gives adults the chance to reconnect with learning.
“This year’s theme is a wonderful way to celebrate how stories can inspire, educate and bring families closer together. We’re proud to offer a programme that’s fun and accessible to all.”
Highlights include:
Drop-in activities at libraries including Uttoxeter, Perton and Biddulph
Craft and storytelling sessions at Family Hubs
Opportunities to meet Community Learning and Family Hub teams
Information on free adult learning courses to support parenting, wellbeing and career development
