All wrapped up at Cannock WI!
At this month’s meeting Cannock WI member, and past president, Meena, demonstrated several ways to make our wrapped gifts more elegant by simply adding a few folds and creases to sheets of paper.
It is not quite that easy, of course, but a number of us managed to produce prettily packaged parcels with a range of decorations; and it is quite amazing that a box of tissues or a bottle of plonk can become an attractive and desirable gift when they are beautifully wrapped. Meena picked three of the best attempts as competition winners. We are now all looking forward to exquisitely wrapped ‘Secret Santa’ presents at our December meeting!

There was the usual WI business and information about forthcoming activities including a trip to Chester Christmas market; and the pantomime at Birmingham Hippodrome. A warm welcome was then extended to new member Theresa Littlewood who received her member’s pack from President Janis and member secretary Alison.
The next meeting will be on November 13 when we will learn about Remembrance in other countries. Previous to this, three of our members will be representing the Club at the Civic Remembrance Service at St Luke's Church on November 9, and laying a WI wreath at the Cannock town centre War Memorial.

Cannock WI always welcomes visitors to discover more about us on the second Thursday of each month at St Luke’s Church Hall. Meetings begin at 10.30am with refreshments, followed by a speaker or practical demonstration, or an activity and usually ends with a raffle.
