Site Manager at Lawnswood, Staffordshire Scoops a Coveted NHBC Seal of Excellence Award
The site manager for Cameron Homes’ £105m Lawnswood development in Branston, Staffordshire has been recognised as one of the top site managers in the country by the National House Building Council (NHBC).
The award programme is now in its 45th year and regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry. Site managers who demonstrate exceptional quality standards are recognised in four tiers of regional and national awards, with Birmingham’s International Convention Centre playing host to the regional finals.
Jon Dean, age 50, who has been a site manager for 12 years, was one of 14 across the NHBC’s ‘West’ region to win a Seal of Excellence award, having won a Pride in the Job award earlier this year. Mr Dean has been based at the Lawnswood development for over two years, where xxx Cameron homes have been delivered.
Mr Dean, who lives just outside Burntwood in the village of Hammerwich, has worked for Cameron Homes since 2017. He has a Level 6 NVQ site management qualification and undertakes regular professional training courses.
Jon Dean, Cameron Homes’ site manager for Lawnswood in Staffordshire, said: “I want to thank all my site team, office team and sub-contractors who have contributed to the success of the Lawnswood development, my family for their support and Cameron Homes for backing me throughout the past eight years.
“All our focus is on delivering the best quality houses for our customers to make into beautiful lived-in homes. The attention to detail and placemaking at Lawnswood will ensure this development stands the test of time.”
A Seal of Excellence award is a badge of success for the site manager, their team and associated trades, as well providing a reputational boost for the housebuilder. It rewards the contribution and dedication to pursuing excellence in delivering high-quality homes for homeowners in the UK. More than 250 judges apply a robust and meticulous judging process to around 16,000 residential developments across the UK.
Chief operations officer of Cameron Homes, Paul Morrissey, said that site managers had to go through several rounds of rigorous inspections at various stages of the development being built.
“Jon has worked tremendously hard to coordinate his large on-site team and reach the exacting standards required,” he said. “The achievement is well-deserved and we are so proud of Jon for bringing home a coveted Seal of Excellence award.
“Pride in the Job recognises site managers who achieve the highest standards in construction and that is exactly what he and his team have delivered at Lawnswood. Jon’s commitment, leadership, experience, attention to detail and his overwhelming pride in the job are what makes him such an excellent site manager. The outstanding build quality of Lawnswood has ensured it seamlessly blends into the traditional setting of Branston.
“With this highly popular scheme virtually build complete, it is no surprise that we only have 29 homes remaining out the total of 260. This stunning development has attracted a number of locals to buy a new home for the first time, as well as bringing new people into the area to live in this quintessential Staffordshire setting. Anyone interested in the remaining family homes here needs to get in touch without delay to avoid disappointment.”
Three- and four-bedroom family homes at Lawnswood are available from £320,000 - £525,000, with deposit contributions of up to £16,000, plus £8,000 of luxury upgrades, available for a limited time on selected plots.
Established in 1994, Cameron Homes is currently delivering over 200 homes across 11 live developments and has a pipeline of future sites expected to deliver circa 1,000 new homes. The company is active in Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire. It is owned by the Tara Group, which also owns Chasetown Civil Engineering and partnership-focused Keon Homes.
