'I'm going to Brave the Shave when AFC Wolverhampton City host Stone Old Alleynians for an important cause - here's why'
AFC Wolverhampton City are hosting a Brave The Shave to raise money for The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity and the local Macmillan Cancer Trust hub which is based at New Cross hospital.
The Midland Football League Premier Division club AFC Wolverhampton City host Stone Old Alleynians on October 11th and as the players leave the pitch after the half time whistle, Robbie Meakin (Club Ambassador) and his group of fundraisers will take to the chairs, as BarberCharl and Luke The Barber do what they do best.
Robbie was diagnosed with cancer in April, which has since been confirmed as stage 4 and incurable, but his own fight hasn't stopped him from wanting to continue raising money for others.
"I told the specialist at New Cross Hospital that when my hair starts to go, I'll take control of the situation and just shave it off. Deciding to do this, I thought I'd organise a fundraiser because if it's going to go anyway, I can raise some money doing so." said Robbie.

Tyler and Jordan Price have already visited their barber and shaved their heads for charity and his sister Sophie has had twelve inches of hair cut off which has been donated to The Little Princess Trust, who provide real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
If you'd be interested in taking to the chair and braving the shave, in support of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity and the local Macmillan Cancer Support hub, email robbie.afcwc@gmail.com or contact @robbiexmeakin through social media.
Alternatively, if you've got no hair on your head but are willing to have your chest or legs waxed, Robbie's wife Lauren (of Glamour Nails and Beauty - Bradmore) will be on hand to do so.
Donations can be made on the day at the Prestige Midlands Arena or online at gofundme.com/brave-the-shave-with-robbie
