Annual skittles tradition keeps Staffordshire WI spirit rolling
Competitive skittles has become an anticipated annual event for members of Staffordshire Women's Institutes.
This year, 10 Teams gathered at Rolleston-on-Dove's Scout HQ on a wet and grey Saturday afternoon and had a fun time whilst enjoying delicious non-stop refreshments.
Encouraging cries and cheers from the competitors were equal to the activities of the Scouts who were holding a weekend camp in the grounds.
The event was organised by the Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes Leisure & Pleasure Committee and hosted by Rolleston-on-Dove WI, the competition winners last year.
Sam Taylor kept close control over the leader board.

Mary Cooke, Chair of Leisure & Pleasure, said: "I am so grateful to Rolleston-on-Dove WI for their support and for co-ordinating the wonderful refreshments -particular thanks go to Verity Conner, Helen Barnett, Megan and Sally. These events are always a real treat in every way."
She went on to say: "The energy in the room was amazing and everyone had such an enjoyable time."

After a very competitive afternoon, the winners were Doveside WI with 97 points, with two teams from Woodlands in second and third places with 92 and 88 points respectively.
Woodlands WI Team were Margaret Clark, Deborah Childs, Melissa Dean and Lyn Gallimore and are shown here with Mary Cooke. The trophy, a beautiful crystal bowl, will be formally presented at the Staffordshire Federation's Award Evening next month.
