Punk noise and new wave mayhem descend on The Victoria
Live music takes a feral turn at The Victoria in Birmingham on Wednesday, October 1, as Bristol’s M/X headline a triple bill packed with grit, distortion and unfiltered energy.
M/X are a young three-piece known for their chaotic live shows and politically charged punk sound. Drawing comparisons to IDLES, Soft Play and Kid Kapichi, their trashy rhythms and angsty guitars have earned them spots at festivals like 2000 Trees and Dot To Dot, plus appearances at Bristol staples Thekla and The Louisiana.
Joining them is Joseph Hooligan, a genre-bending punk artist from Burton-on-Trent who blends distorted melody with bittersweet nihilism. With roots in DIY punk and a flair for theatrical storytelling, Hooligan’s set promises emotional punch and sonic experimentation, backed by a fresh wave of new material.
Opening the night are The Line Managers, a Birmingham-based trio who fuse punk and new wave with pounding rhythms and poetic urgency. Their sound translates existential dread into hardcore optimism, setting the tone for a night of uncompromising live music.
Expect noise, sweat, and a lineup that refuses to play it safe!
