Tails wag as Staffordshire care home hosts dog show to mark International Dog Day
To celebrate International Dog Day, Wyrley Rose care home, located in Great Wyrley, opened its doors to a host of furry friends as it held its first very own dog show.
The event saw residents, staff and visitors joined by a variety of pooches, all ready to compete across six playful categories. From ‘Best Dressed’ to ‘Waggiest Tail’, each entrant gave it their all, much to the delight of the cheering crowd.
Treat and toy filled hampers were handed out to the winners, with six well-deserved titles awarded over the course of the afternoon. The event was a memorable and uplifting experience for all, with residents particularly enjoying the chance to meet and interact with the four-legged guests.
The team at Wyrley Rose extended a heartfelt thank you to the local community for once again showing their support, and to Groomingdales Pet Parlour Great Wyrley for joining in the festivities.
Bhav Amlani, director of Macc Care, which operates 16 care homes across the Midlands, said: “We had a fantastic day celebrating International Dog Day. There were wagging tails and smiles all around, it was truly special to see the joy our canine companions brought to the home.”
Wyrley Rose continues to offer engaging and meaningful events as part of its ongoing commitment to wellbeing, connection and community spirit, for both two-legged and four-legged friends alike.
