'Every body is a dancing body' – Stourbridge dance community marks first birthday with new social series
Marking 12 months of confidence, community and funky moves and the start of a brand-new monthly dance social in Stourbridge. Twisted Funky Moves, the inclusive Stourbridge-based dance community built on the belief that every body is a dancing body, has celebrated its first birthday in style with the sold-out launch of Sip Step Slay a brand-new monthly dance and social night.
Held at the British Legion, Amblecote, the launch brought together a buzzing crowd for a night of beginner-friendly line dance routines with a funky twist, laughter, and community spirit.
Attendees described the event as:
“The great atmosphere & dancing, good priced drinks”
“The vibes and atmosphere and obviously the dancing!!”
“Great atmosphere”
“Dancing!”

Founder Yasmin Lakhan said: “Sip Step Slay was everything I hoped it would be a night full of energy, joy, and community. Teaching dance is the easy part, but building a space where people feel welcome, confident, and celebrated is what makes Twisted Funky Moves so special. We can’t wait to do it all again next month!”
The next Sip Step Slay will take place on Friday, October 24 with a Hallowe'en theme (venue to be confirmed). Guests can expect more beginner-friendly routines, a lively social atmosphere, and plenty of spooky-funky surprises.
