Get inspired at Dudley Library
Writers and their books are in the spotlight at two free events being held at Dudley Library this September.
The first, on Monday, September 15 at 7pm, is a panel discussion with three Royal Literary Fund (RLF) writers who are based in the Midlands.
Published authors Juliet Clare Bell, Helen Kelly and Leila Rasheed will be talking about sources of writing inspiration and, on the flip side, how writers’ block can be tackled.

“The event aims to provide an intimate perspective of how writers think and demystify the process of creativity,” said Sharon Whitehouse, manager of Dudley Library.

“There will be plenty of time for questions and those attending will certainly come away with a much better idea of how writers themselves feel about writing, and how stories, plays and poems are produced.
“Founded in 1790, the RLF is a charity that offers financial support, advice and earning potential to writers across the UK. It is hugely important in keeping writers writing and we’re delighted that Juliet Clare, Helen and Leila will be sharing their experiences and hopefully inspiring others.”

The second event, taking place on Wednesday, September 24 at 7pm, is the launch of two new books published by Midlands-based Tenebrous Texts – ‘Feral Dreaming’ by Steven C. Davis and ‘Sun, Moon and Harroway’ by Laura Liptrot, the third book in her ‘Garden of Time’ series.
Both authors will talk about their novels, read extracts and answer questions from the audience. They will also sign copies for those wanting to buy them.

“Books are the obvious heart of libraries and, as managers, we have a vital part to play in encouraging continued creativity,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager for Dudley Libraries.
“Our events are free, light refreshments will be available, and booking is highly recommended.”
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Dudley Libraries on behalf of the council.
