Support is on hand from Age Concern Stourbridge and Halesowen
Bereavement is something we all experience at some time during our lives, but that never makes it any easier for the individual. That is why Age Concern Stourbridge and Halesowen hold a regular support group.
The session, which is held on the second Friday of every month from 2-3pm, at the Elton Centre (St Johns Road, Stourbridge, DY8 1HA) is an opportunity for anyone going through this highly emotional time to come along to meet other people experiencing bereavement.
The group is free to attend.
David Harbach, chair of trustees commented: “Bereavement can feel a lonely time for anyone who is going through it and our support group is there for anyone who feels they need to make a connection. We are extremely friendly and welcoming and invite those affected by the death of a loved one and their family and friends to come along and have a cuppa with us.
“Missing a loved one has no timeframe on it - you can still feel its affects for years, so come along whether it is a recent event or some time ago. We are there for you to help you connect, talk, listen and grieve for anyone - a partner, spouse, child, parent or friend.”
This group is open to anyone, not just the Age Concern target audience of those aged 50+. If you want to find out more ring 01384 390065.
A registered charity, Age Concern relies on local fundraising events, donations and activities held at their centre to raise funds to continue with their invaluable work.
The charity provides practical support for over 50s by giving individuals the opportunity to enjoy life to the full by socialising more, getting out and about, meeting new people, being more active and staying healthy.
