The Giffard Arms on Victoria Street was the venue for the fundraiser dedicated to the city’s hospice.

The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Cllr Craig Collingswood, who is raising funds for Compton Care during his year in office, made an appearance at the event, which featured performances from over a dozen bands including The Original Wanted, Lokko, PYROGARIC and This Fallen City.

The Mayor said: “Compton Care provides vital support to people facing life-limiting illnesses, and I’m proud to have selected them as one of the charities I am raising funds for during my time as Mayor. I was only too happy to come down to GIFF-FEST to show my support, events like this demonstrate the heart of the people of Wolverhampton.”

The festival was organised by Wendy Shone, licensee of The Giffard Arms, and her team of staff and partner organisations.

Wendy said: “A big thank you to all the bands who gave up their time, as well as the Mayor for his attendance and support. A big thank you to all my staff who have worked tirelessly front of house or behind the scenes, they did an amazing job, I couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you to all my wonderful customers. There's never a dull moment and they made it an amazing day.”

The Giffard will announce the total funds raised once all donations are counted.
