Pupils at Eden Boys' School make the grade with resilience, results and remarkable success
The school community at Eden Boys' School, Birmingham is sharing in celebrations to acknowledge the hard work, determination and talent behind this year’s impressive GCSE achievements.
Setting a high standard for academic excellence, Nur Tushar Ahmed, who joined the school in Year 7 after moving from Italy, achieved an exceptional seven grade 9s (the highest possible grade) in his GCSEs. Overcoming an initial language barrier, the former Head Boy has also shone outside the classroom, representing the school on a student exchange programme in Istanbul, reaching the finals of the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme, and leading fundraising efforts for school charities. Tushar is delighted that his results have opened the door to further opportunities and will go on to study A levels in Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science at King Edward VI Camp Hill Sixth Form.
Following in Tushar’s footsteps, Faheem Ahmed, the eldest of four siblings and the first in his family likely to attend university, achieved six grade 9s. An aspiring software engineer, Faheem will study Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science at King Edward VI Aston Grammar School, with ambitions to progress to the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge. Reflecting on his success, he credits the dedication of his teachers and offers this advice to younger pupils: “Be patient, do your work and the school will help you succeed.”
Continuing the school’s tradition of high achievement, another standout pupil is Mujtaba Hussain, whose results include 2 grade 9s and 6 grade 8s. Hoping to be the first member of his family to attend university, Mujtaba will now study Chemistry, Biology and History at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School.
