Wodensborough Ormiston Academy students celebrate GCSE achievements

Students at Wodensborough Ormiston Academy are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results today, with joy and pride felt across the school community.

Located on Hydes Road and part of Ormiston Academies Trust, the school has seen its Year 11 cohort overcome challenges and exceed expectations across a wide range of subjects.

The Year 11 cohort achieved particularly highly in GCSE art where 29% of students were awarded a grade 7 or better, Latin where 93% of students secured a grade 4 or higher, and GCSE Design where 81% of students secured a grade 5 or higher.

The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they now prepare to take their next steps in education.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:

  • Gurleen Kaur who successfully achieved a grade 9 in mathematics and physics and an 8 in biology, chemistry and Latin

  • Klaidas Kurauskas who obtained a grade 9 in English literature and photography, an 8 in history and a Distinction* in ICT

  • As well as Amardip Singh who received a grade 9 in English literature and history, an 8 in English language and triple science and a Distinction* in ICT
