Bright beginnings as Star King Solomon Academy pupils shine in GCSEs
The school community at Star King Solomon Academy is celebrating its first set of GCSE results since joining Star Academies in November 2024.
Ikhlas Suliman, who has shown incredible determination throughout his time at Star King Solomon Academy, celebrated with an impressive set of grades that include three grade 9s (the highest grade possible) and two grade 8s. With aspirations to work in the medical field, and dreams of dentistry, Ikhlas looks forward to studying A levels in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry at Aston University Sixth Form and Engineering Academy.
Since joining the school in November 2024, pupil Hafsah Ahmed has displayed remarkable resilience in adapting to a new country and curriculum. Settling into an unfamiliar environment with determination and a positive attitude, Hafsah quickly embraced the challenges of a new education system, showing both dedication and a willingness to learn. Her hard work has been rewarded with strong academic results, including a grade 9, a grade 6, and two grade 5s, reflecting not only her academic ability but also her perseverance and commitment to personal growth.
Another inspirational success story is Nimotalah Oyebanji who, despite a challenging operation prior to exam season, went on to achieve grade 7s in both English Literature and English Language, grade 6s in Science and Maths, grade 5 in Business Studies and a Distinction in Health and Social Care. Nimotalah will be attending University College Birmingham where she will study A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Language.

Lloyd Opara, Secondary Principal at Star King Solomon Academy, said: "This GCSE results day is a special moment for our school, marking our first set of results since joining the Star Academies family. Today, we celebrate not only the hard work and determination of our pupils, but also the strong sense of community and support that has grown over the past year. These results reflect the effort, perseverance, and progress our pupils have made, and we look forward to seeing them thrive in the next stage of their education or careers. We wish each and every one of them the very best as they take their next steps towards a bright and successful future."
