Oldbury Salvation Army seeks choir members for festive panto
The Salvation Army in Oldbury is striking up a new tune this autumn, inviting voices young and old to blend in harmony for a festive Christmas pantomime in December.
After last year’s successful relaunch, the choir is hitting a fresh note this September, opening its doors to all ages: families, friends, and anyone ready to raise their voice in festive song. Rehearsals will be alive with the sound of Christmas favourites, building up to a performance brimming with music, drama, and the warm spirit of community togetherness.
Choir rehearsals will run from 6:30–7:30pm at The Salvation Army, Merton Close, B68 8NG, with an open invitation to keep the rhythm going in community drama rehearsals from 7:45–9:00pm for those eager to tread the panto stage. No experience is needed, just a song in your heart and a smile on your face.

The December finale will crescendo with more than music, as the audience will be invited to join in the harmony of giving through a collection for The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Toy Appeal, helping to bring the gift of joy to children who might otherwise miss out.

Rehearsal Dates:
September 15 and 29
October 13
November 3 and 17
December 1

Deborah Hampton, Church Leader of the Salvation Army in Oldbury, said: "We want this to be a place where the whole community can join in: parents, children, grandparents, neighbours, everyone singing and laughing together while making something special for Christmas. This isn’t about perfect voices, it’s about making memories and sharing joy."
