WGHS celebrates exceptional A Level results
Huge congratulations to our Year 13 students who have achieved exceptional A Level results this summer! Their hard work and dedication over the past two years in Sixth Form has truly paid off. They have been a fantastic cohort, and we are extremely proud of them all.
Results Highlights 2025:
50% of grades awarded at A* or A
78% of grades awarded A*-B
Particular success was seen in Art, Theatre Studies, Chinese and Russian with 100% of students achieving A*-B; Additionally, 91% of Business students and German students, and 90% of Further Mathematics students achieved A*-B.
Many of our students are now heading off to university this September, with a significant number gaining places at prestigious ‘Russell Group’ universities including Birmingham, Cambridge, Exeter, Imperial College London, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and York.
Our students will study a diverse range of courses including Biology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Dentistry, Economics, English, English Law and French Law, Fine Art, Human Social and Political Sciences, Law, Medicine, Modern Foreign Languages and Economics, and Speech and Language Therapy. We wish them all great success.
A special congratulations to Gajani, Annika, Ria, Riya, Claudia, Eve and Sakina for their incredible achievement of straight A*s. 45 WGHS students achieved A*/ A grades across 3 or 4 A Level subjects – congratulations, a wonderful achievement! We must make mention of an outstanding performance in English Literature by Amy, who has been recognised by the OCR exam board for her 100% exam result and hailed as one of the top performing students in the country. Well done to her!
