This exciting partnership highlights a shared mission: to champion women in male-dominated spaces. Both the rugby pitch and the tech industry remain largely male-led, with women frequently facing challenges ranging from underrepresentation to inequality and prejudice. By teaming up with Amy and Lichfield Ladies, Techcare is making a clear statement of support for women breaking barriers—whether that’s on the field or in the workplace.

Amy Cokayne, a seasoned international player and key figure in the England Women’s Rugby squad, began her rugby journey with Lichfield Ladies. With over 80 caps for England, Amy has played in multiple World Cups and scored a hat-trick in the 2021 Rugby World Cup final against New Zealand—a rare feat in international rugby. Now, as she prepares for the next Women’s Rugby World Cup, Amy is coming full circle to give back to the club that helped shape her early career.

As part of the partnership, Amy will select a small group of "Rising Roses" from Lichfield LRC—young, promising players who will receive additional support to help develop their rugby and career aspirations.

“Lichfield has always been close to my heart,” said Amy. “I’m proud to work with Techcare to inspire and uplift the next generation of players. This kind of support at a grassroots level is what makes the biggest difference.”

Techcare is focused on long-term impact, aiming to empower young women in sport while also continuing its efforts to improve diversity and inclusion within the tech world.

“Women in sport and women in tech face a lot of the same battles,” said Emily Keeling, Marketing Manager at Techcare. “We’re proud to be standing beside Amy and Lichfield Ladies, helping to level the playing field and invest in the future of local talent.”

The partnership has been expertly managed by Contested, a platform making sports sponsorships more accessible and meaningful for brands of all sizes.

“Techcare’s values perfectly align with Amy and Lichfield Ladies,” said Darcy Young, Founder of Contested. “This partnership shows how local businesses can make a real difference—not just with funding, but with purpose and visibility too.”

As anticipation builds for the Women’s Rugby World Cup, Techcare’s backing of Amy and the Lichfield Ladies sets a strong example of how sport and business can work together to drive change—and uplift the next generation of women leaders.
