Bikers, breakfast, and a hero’s legacy: Community gathers to honour passionate charity advocate

Peter, a lifelong biker and passionate charity advocate, left a lasting mark on the community through decades of fundraising and goodwill. Best known for initiating the region’s first Christmas Toy Run and his long-standing involvement with the Star Bikers' Christmas and Easter Runs, Peter’s passing was deeply felt by all who knew him.

Organised by AMG Nursing & Care Services, who had the privilege of caring for Peter in his final days, the event brought together bikers, carers, friends, and members of the public in support of Peter’s devoted wife, Deb Woolley. The aim: to raise funds to give Peter the send-off he truly deserved.

The event, held at Rugby House in Stone, featured a biker breakfast morning with bacon and sausage baps served in exchange for small donations. Supporters mingled, shared stories, and celebrated Peter’s remarkable legacy over hot coffee and sizzling breakfast rolls.

Alongside the breakfast, a Bonus Ball fundraiser and hamper draw helped boost contributions. With the lively support of Wendy Widemouth hosting the draw, spirits remained high throughout the morning.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of all who attended and donated, a total of £2,562.80 was raised — a heartfelt tribute to Peter’s enduring impact on his community.

Deb Woolley expressed her gratitude, sharing that the funds will help give Peter the farewell he truly deserves, surrounded by the love and respect he inspired in so many.
