Elan Homes recently launched its Sandbourne Gardens development, on Stourport Road, where it’s opened a four-bedroom detached Blenheim show home.

Styled by Edward Thomas Interiors, it’s been well received by visitors, helping inspire buyers.

Andy Richardson, managing director at Edward Thomas Interiors, said: “For the Blenheim’s design, we really wanted to celebrate Bewdley, which is an attractive Georgian town. Drawing inspiration from the River Severn, we styled one of the teenage bedrooms with a rowing club theme. This includes wall-mounted oars, a Bewdley Rowing Club jacket and various artwork depicting the joy of the sport.

“The other teenage bedroom has a beautiful ballet design. The emblem of Bewdley School is a swan, so we’ve made this subtle connection by referencing Swan Lake in the artwork. This bedroom also has faux florals framing the bed, which create a delicate yet eye-catching feature.”

The Blenheim is a generously proportioned, double fronted home, offering 1,655 sq ft of living space.

On one side of the hallway is a dual aspect lounge, with French doors opening out to the garden, with the combined kitchen, dining and family room on the opposite side.

The dining area is at the front, with the kitchen in the middle – putting it very much at the heart of family living. The family area has bi-fold doors leading to the rear garden. A utility and cloakroom complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has an en-suite and dressing room. Bedroom two benefits from a shower room, meaning the family bathroom serves just two bedrooms.

Throughout the home, the designers have demonstrated how people can interpret interior trends in their own properties.

“Colour drenching is very popular,” Andy explained. “In the Blenheim’s spacious kitchen/diner/family room, a rich taupe is painted on all the walls to create unity in the space. We’ve also used a similar technique in the guest bedroom but have paired this with a wallpapered panel for extra distinction.”

Andy added: “Our favourite room, however, is the living room. Here we’ve opted for a panelled ceiling and half-height panelled walls. This creates such a dramatic effect and should be a real wow moment for house hunters.”

Sandbourne Gardens will eventually feature 79 new homes, with two to five-bedrooms.

Current prices start from £349,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Brocton. A four-bedroom detached Blenheim, like the show home, is available from £609,995.

Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “We’ve had a great response to our new homes in Bewdley. The interior design of the show home is a real talking point – people love the subtle nods to the local area and are keen to replicate some of the features in their own homes.

“Five homes have already been reserved and a further 12 are the subject of “early bird” reservations. This means that when they’re released for sale, in line with our build programme, those people have first refusal.”

Heating and hot water in Elan’s new homes in Bewdley will be powered by air source heat pumps, in place of traditional gas boilers, with underfloor heating to the ground floor of the properties. Every home will have an electric vehicle charging point.

The show home at Sandbourne Gardens is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
