Behind the scenes glimpse at work of mayor raises £600 for charity
The mayor of Wolverhampton has raised more than £600 for charity after opening the doors of his parlour for a behind the scenes open day.
The mayor, Councillor Craig Collingswood, hosted 'A Slice of Wolverhampton' and offered attendees the opportunity to see inside the parlour, hear about the historic city regalia and enjoy a glass of fizz and a slice of cake.
All money raised will be donated to the mayor's chosen charities which this year are Compton Care, Acorns Children's Hospital, SSAFA - the armed forces charity and the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity.
Councillor Collingswood said: "It was fantastic to open the doors of the mayor's parlour and welcome people to come and have a look around, find out more about what we have up here, what the role of mayor entails and raise hundreds for my charities.

"People really enjoyed seeing items such as the civic mace which is more than 200 years old, learning about the significance of the city crest, seeing the council chamber and washing it all down with a glass of fizz and a slice of cake.
"It was all for some extremely deserving local good causes and I am extremely grateful to everyone who bought a ticket and came along."
