Leading Cannock dance school named ‘Community Leader of the Year’ at 2025 West Midlands Business Awards

Fresh off being named Dance School of the Year 2025, Crystal Academy: Aerial Arts & Dance CIC has once again raised the bar, winning Community Leader of the Year at this year’s Business Awards UK – West Midlands Business Awards. This incredible honour recognises the academy's far-reaching impact, not just in dance excellence, but in driving meaningful change across the region.

The award reflects Crystal Academy’s deep-rooted commitment to supporting local children and families through inclusive outreach, accessible education, and community-led programmes. Their work alongside Staffordshire County Council, the Staffordshire Crime Commissioner, and other grassroots organisations has helped combat social exclusion and promote youth development throughout Hednesford, Cannock, and the surrounding areas.

Founded by Jason and Kirsty Kolmer, the academy is now in its third year as a registered Community Interest Company (CIC). Kirsty, Principal and Director of Choreography, brings an exceptional background in dance and sports science, while Jason’s leadership is shaped by his military service and education expertise. Together with their dedicated team – Gemma, Helena , and Michigan – they’ve created more than just a dance school. They've built a compassionate, high-impact space where confidence, creativity, and community thrive.

As the academy looks to the future, enrolment is now open for September 2025. With award-winning tuition, a powerful sense of purpose, and unwavering dedication to its community, Crystal Academy continues to inspire, uplift, and lead the way.
