Midlands-based business ranked 5th best place to work for women in the UK
Solihull-based The Marketing Pod, a full-service B2B marketing agency specialising in sustainable energy, utilities, and regulated industries, has achieved 5th place in the Small Business category of the UK’s Best Workplace for Women 2025, an accolade awarded by Great Place to Work UK.
This prestigious, national recognition highlights organisations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to gender inclusivity, equitable career progression, and nurturing an environment where all women can excel.
The report found that 92% of staff at The Marketing Pod, affectionately known as ‘Podsters’, recommended the company as a great place to work. This figure was well above the 54% national average. As well as this, 97% of Podsters said the company provided a physically safe workplace, fair treatment, delivered on promises and showed a willingness to go the extra mile.
Founded in 2013 by Jodie Williams and Jen Hughes at a kitchen table, The Marketing Pod has grown to a 42‑strong team serving UK and global clients, operating across five ‘centres of excellence’: Strategy, Creative, Content, PR, and Digital.
This latest accolade follows a series of prestigious recognitions for the West Midlands-based business. In recent years, The Marketing Pod has been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces, Best Workplaces for Wellbeing, and Best Workplaces for Development, consistently ranking among the top small businesses nationwide.

In addition, ‘The Pod’ has also recently won national awards for its work, including ‘Best Event’ at the prestigious CIPR Excellence Awards, as well as ‘not-for-profit’ campaign and ‘construction’ campaign at the UK Content and PR Awards.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women – and ranked 5th, no less,” said Jodie Williams, Director and Co‑Founder. “This recognition means so much because it comes from our people. Creating a workplace where women can succeed without compromise has always been part of our mission.”
Jen Hughes, Director and Co‑Founder, added: “From day one, we set out to build a business that worked differently – not just for our clients, but for our team. We’ve worked hard to create a culture that empowers every Podster to bring their whole selves to work and grow with confidence. We’re immensely proud to see that celebrated on a national stage.”
The companies on the list were found to have a reasonable balance of women and men across the organisation; removing barriers to women’s career advancement; and creating workplaces where all employees, regardless of gender, can flourish.
