The Tipton & Coseley Building Society made the donations via its Charitable Foundation, sharing £6,728 in total between six different causes.

Among the recipients were The Mary Stevens Hospice, which will use its £2,500 donation to expand bereavement services for those experiencing the loss of a loved one.

Acorns Children’s Hospice received £1,000, ensuring 24 hours of care for one child at its Black Country hospice in Walsall.

Additional grants went to George Betts Primary Academy in Smethwick for parent and child enrichment activities (£1,360) and Queen Alexandra College in Harborne for student health and wellbeing (£500).

Charitable Foundation member and Tipton colleague Karen Head said: “For more than 25 years, the Tipton & Coseley Charitable Foundation has been making a difference and bringing much-needed funds to a diverse range of charities.

“Our Society plays an important part in the community, not just through the provision of savings and mortgages, but by supporting causes that resonate with local people, including our customers and colleagues.”
