The recently opened Wyrley Rose care home, located in Great Wyrley, embraced the outdoors and sharing great food by creating an afternoon filled with music, games, face painting, and a delicious array of picnic treats. The residents loved interacting with the children, making for an afternoon full of smiles and laughter.

A highlight of the day was storytime with Ben, who read ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ to an eager audience of young listeners and their teddy bears. It was a moment that everyone enjoyed, sparking imagination and nostalgia.

The event was the perfect way to bring together residents, families, and little ones in a community celebration embracing the summer spirit.

Bhav Amlani, director of Macc Care Group, which operates 15 luxury care homes across the Midlands, said: "National Picnic Month is a wonderful occasion to celebrate togetherness, and what better way to do so than with a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. It was a pleasure to host the children from Puddle Ducks Nursery, and we are so grateful for the smiles and laughter they brought to our home. We can’t wait to host more events like this in the future and continue creating special memories for our residents and the local community."

Wyrley Rose will continue to create tailored events with enriching and enjoyable elements for all their residents, and they look forward to welcoming the children from Puddle Duck Nursery back again soon.

This event is a demonstration of Macc Care’s ongoing commitment to providing intergenerational activities that encourage connection and a sense of community, nurturing a strong sense of belonging.
