Walsall family firm raises over £21,000 for The Giles’ Trust
Local family run accountancy firm Unico 3 announces total raised for The Giles’ Trust Brain Tumour Fund to support them with their research after family member suffered from the condition.
Unico 3, based in Walsall, has raised a remarkable £21,750 for The Giles’ Trust Brain Tumour Fund, marking an 18 month fundraising partnership with a cheque handover at Unico 3's 15th birthday celebration this July.
The total includes a wide range of fundraising and awareness activity led by the Unico 3 team, including their recent 15 Walks in 15 Places challenge in June - a month long campaign covering more than 75 miles in celebration of the company’s 15th year in business.

The team at Unico 3, have been fundraising tirelessly over the last 18 months for the cause as it’s one that feels deeply personal to the team. A close family member was treated for a brain tumour at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham – the same hospital now supported by The Giles’ Trust Brain Tumour Fund, which was established in 2015 to fund vital research and care.

In addition to their June walking challenge, which raised over £2000 alone, where they walked five miles or more in places such as Dovedale, Warwick, and Telford, they also came up with a number of other ways to raise money. This included;
Another walking challenge called “2 million steps in a month”, which took place in 2024
Inviting clients and business contacts to fundraising events to raise awareness
Sponsorship for The Giles’ Trust where Unico 3 paid for those from the hospital to attend events as part of a “Hero’s table” which included Doctors, Nurses and even patients so none of them missed out on key celebrations
Support with business connections - including sponsoring and raising awareness with a local networking group
Their efforts have been widely praised by The Giles’ Trust, which shared Unico 3’s campaign across its social media platforms and thanked the team for their ongoing commitment.
Rebecca Dean, Managing Director of Unico 3, said: “To have raised over £21,000 for such an important cause is something we’re incredibly proud of. The Giles’ Trust does life changing work for families facing brain tumour diagnoses – something we know from experience is a devastating journey, having had a close family member treated for a brain tumour at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham – the very place The Giles’ Trust now supports. We wanted to mark 15 years of Unico 3 by doing something that gives back, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team for getting involved in every walk. We’ve had support from clients, friends and family, and we hope that by raising awareness, we can also raise even more money for this incredible charity.
The whole team has embraced every part of the campaign – from the walking and steps challenges to the fundraising events – and we’ve had amazing support from our clients, friends and local networks. It’s been the most meaningful way we could have celebrated our 15th year in business.”
