Cannock charity's gift to local hospital
Members of Stafford & Cannock League of Hospital Friends visited Cannock Hospital's new community diagnostic centre to officially present them with a new DVD player which it is hoped will help them treat more paediatric patients.
The DVD player donated by the league forms part of this most impressive unit.
The team were shown around by Radiographer Deputy Superintendent Michael Walsh who explained the incredible work they carry out each week.
The department, which opened 12 months ago, operates seven days a week from 7am to 8pm and on average sees an amazing 1,000 patients per week.

The DVD player is used to project images in and around the scanners greatly improving the ambience. The scanners can be particularly intimidating to children but with this system in place they can chose the images they see. This can include some of their favourite cartoon characters.
Visitors to Cannock Hospital are well aware of the work the League of Friends undertake, including the cafe and coffee bars and the meet and greet service but few would realise the other fundraising that takes place in order to donate much needed equipment to hospital departments.
