Councillor scales new heights in aid of good causes
A councillor in Dudley has spoken of his delight after taking part in a Dudley College abseil and smashing his fundraising target for community safety equipment.
The abseil, which takes place at the Evolve Campus each year, is organised by the college and sees students, lecturers, college leaders and anyone else that wants to have a go, abseil down the side of the five-storey Evolve Campus just off Coronation Gardens.
Councillor Keiran Casey who represents the Castle and Priory Ward in Dudley, took part to raise vital funds for new safety equipment such as Bleed Control Kits and cabinets as part of his ongoing community safety campaign, and planned to raise £500, which he achieved.

Councillor Keiran Casey said: “A massive thank you to Dudley College for organising this fantastic abseil again this year, which I know always raises thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes.
"I took part in this abseil to raise funds for more life-saving equipment such as bleed control kits and cabinets, building on the work I've done for many years to support organisations such as the Daniel Baird Foundation.
"These kits have been proven time and time and time again to save lives, even after trips and falls or accidents on the road, so its an honour to support their work and I'm so happy that we've been able to reach our target of raising £500 which means we have enough funds for more kits locally.
"Massive thanks to everyone that has supported".
