Lilian Dodd, ex-Mayor of Stoke on Trent, was chosen as the community hero to pull the first pint to mark the opening of the pub. Lilian was first elected as a local, independent Councillor in 2015 and just two years later was made the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent.

Duty Manager Brad is how Lilian is connected with the pub – Brad spent ten years in care, and drawing on this background, he co-founded the charity Symmetrical alongside Lilian, with the mission of helping young people in North Staffordshire aged 17–25 who are transitioning out of social care. Symmetrical provides vital guidance, resources, and a sense of community to help these young adults build independent, confident lives beyond the care system.

We’ve worked hard to make The Cotton Mill a space for everyone - whether you're catching the game with friends, enjoying a family lunch, or just popping in for a pint. The new Sky Sports package, refreshed interiors, and outdoor seating make it a perfect spot year-round.”
