New Memory Café launches in Perton to support people living with dementia and their carers
Home Instead and Perton Library have teamed up to host a Memory Cafe for those living with dementia.
Designed for both those living with dementia and their carers, this new Memory Café offers a warm welcome, supportive environment to connect and feel understood.
The Memory Café will run on the last Friday of every month, from 10am to 12 noon, at Perton Library, Severn Drive, Perton, Wolverhampton WV6 7QU.
The sessions are completely free to attend and there’s no need to book. Whether you're living with dementia, memory issue's yourself or caring for someone who is, you're invited to drop in, meet others in similar situations, enjoy friendly conversation, in a relaxed and safe environment.
The aim of the café is to reduce isolation, encourage connection, and offer informal peer support, all over a cuppa. Staff from Home Instead Telford will be on hand to welcome visitors, with occasional guest speakers and activity sessions planned throughout the year.
Siobhan Davis, from Home Instead Telford, said: "We’re proud to be working with Perton Library to provide a space where people can simply feel understood and supported. Dementia can be incredibly isolating, both for the person living with the condition and for their carers. This café is all about connection a place where you can relax, talk openly, and feel less alone."
The upcoming Memory Café dates for 2025 are:
Friday, 27 June
Friday, 25 July
Friday, 29 August
Friday, 26 September
Friday, 31 October
Friday, 28 November

Let’s make Perton a more dementia-friendly community, one cuppa at a time.
