Blooming marvellous Staffs WI Quiz!
The Ingestre Suite at the Staffordshire County Showground was transformed into a Summer Meadow for the Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes Annual Quiz.
The theme was embraced by the 61 Teams who wore floral outfits and dressed their tables to depict a summer meadow. There were imaginative displays with flowers a- plenty along with butterflies, birds and other wildlife - nature had come indoors.
With the top three places separated by only two points, it was hotly contested; The winners were Sandon WI. They will hold the Knighton Challenge Shield for the coming year. The Runners-up, holding the Val Smith Memorial Trophy for the year, was a team from Gnosall Jambusters WI. The Best Dressed Table Trophy was awarded to Brocton WI.

The Quiz was organised by the Federation's Education & Public Affairs Committee with the Chair, Karen Sulway as Quiz Master. Questions were on a variety of subjects and appealed to all.
Karen said: "This is a popular event in the Federation's calendar and it is always fun, regardless of whether the teams are competitive or just come along for a good evening out."

She added: "'I am grateful for the support of all Committee members and other Volunteers for ensuring that the evening went smoothly; it is a Team effort."
Education & Public Affairs are running a competition to make a hedgehog from recycled materials to raise the plight of our iconic mammal - and show how they can be helped - and there is a visit to Jodrell Bank arranged for September.
