Life-saving bleed kit presented to Dudley school
Blowers Green Primary School in Dudley received a vital piece of life-saving equipment today as a new emergency bleed control kit was officially presented to the school.
Headteacher Mrs. Zoe Adams and pupils Dempsey and Daniela at the school were joined by local ward councillors Adeela Qayyum and Shaukat Ali, who attended to mark the occasion and show their support for the initiative. The bleed kit, which is designed to provide immediate assistance in the event of a catastrophic bleeding emergency, will now be available on-site as part of the school’s commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its pupils, staff, and the wider community.
Councillor Adeela Qayyum added: “Blowers Green Primary is a hub of our community, and this kit is an important step in making our neighbourhood safer. We commend the school for taking proactive measures.”
Councillor Shaukat Ali said: “This bleed kit could be the difference between life and death in an emergency. Equipping our schools with the tools to respond swiftly to critical incidents is something we are proud to support.”
The presentation is part of a wider community safety effort to install bleed kits in accessible locations across the borough. These kits, which include gauze, tourniquets, and other essential medical supplies, are designed to control major bleeding while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
Headteacher Mrs. Zoe Adams commented: “We are grateful to our local councillors for supporting this initiative and helping us enhance the safety of our school. We hope we never need to use it, but it’s reassuring to know that we’re prepared in case of an emergency.”
