Leading Midlands care group hosts special event to celebrate the opening of fifteenth home
A new, state-of-the-art care home has officially opened its doors in Great Wyrley - marking the fifteenth development by Midlands-business Macc Care Group.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially open the doors of the new home - Wyrley Rose, with the honours carried out by Charlotte Quartey, Macc Care Group’s new homes director and chief nurse.
To mark the occasion, Wyrley Rose also hosted a celebratory launch event which welcomed guests with prosecco and goodie bags followed by live music from singer Nicole Lloyd and a buffet lunch for all visitors.
The end of the day was marked by the arrival of the Wyrley Rose’s first resident, Carole Godson, who was welcomed with a red carpet entrance and a ribbon on her door.

The event attracted around 190 people from the local community including Dementia friendly barbers - Cordelle Cabey, Cllr. Ray Perry and Cllr. Mrs Kathleen Perry MBE.
Located on Walsall Road in the village of Great Wyrley near Walsall, the brand new home will deliver high-quality nursing care, as well as specialist dementia and respite support.
The home has been designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality, local care and will offer tailored support to residents with a wide range of clinical needs. The home will be managed by an experienced team, backed by over 30 years of combined senior care leadership.
Sitting adjacent to Wyrley Court, Macc Care’s latest retirement village, the home fosters an integrated community with seamless access between the two. This unique setup promotes continuity of care, social connection and shared amenities, ensuring residents benefit from a vibrant and supportive environment.
With availability from spring 2025, Wyrley Rose is anticipated to make an important contribution to elderly care in the region, helping to ease pressure on local health services and providing peace of mind to families looking for reliable, long-term care for their loved ones.
Bhav Amlani, director of Macc Care Group, a top 20 care group and one of the Financial Times 2025 long-term Growth Champions, said: “The opening of Wyrley Rose is a proud moment for Macc Care and represents a significant milestone in our journey.
