Wolverhampton great-grandmother celebrates her 104th birthday in style with family and friends
Wolverhampton born grandmother Violet Wise has been celebrating her 104th birthday surrounded by her family and friends.

She previously appeared in the Express & Star when she was 100 when she shared that family was the most important thing in her life and that her clear complexion was down to "drinking lots of water" during her life, and that she enjoyed the occasional glass of sherry.
She was born on May 24, 1921 and her family and staff at Abbeyfield Parkdale Care Home threw her a shing-ding to mark the milestone.
Among those in attendance on Saturday was her daughter Sylvia Busby, aged 72 , of Lanesfield, and her son Les, aged 75, of Tettenhall.
Sylvia, a retired health care assistant, says: "It was a wonderful party. Mum's a bit forgetful nowadays, but she enjoyed seeing everybody.
"There were about 18 members of the family and friends plus several of the residents at Abbeyfield Parkdale Care Home where she she has been living for a month after living with me for five years.
"She had a lovely cake and a beautiful buffet put on by the care home's cook.

"She's been an absolutely wonderful mum. She brought us up after our father died and put us first. She is very much loved by everyone."
Violet's eldest granddaughter Sarah Wallbank sadly passed away, aged 46, in August 2022 due to illness followed by her eldest son Ray, who lived in Parkfields, who passed away last September, aged 77.
She has three surviving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She married her first husband Alfred Williams in 1946 in St Luke's Church in Blakenhall, but sadly Alfred passed away 10 years later when their children were young.
She met her second husband Jack Wise while working as his house cleaner and when romance blossomed they married at Wolverhampton Register Office in 1984.

They were together for 19 years until Jack passed away in 2003.
