Summerhill School honoured with prestigious SSAT ‘Transformational’ award for School Culture and Community Engagement
Summerhill School, in Kingswinford, is proud to announce it has been awarded the esteemed 'Transformational Practice Award' by the Schools, Students and Teachers Network (SSAT).
The award recognises the school’s outstanding work in transforming its culture and fostering meaningful engagement with its community and stakeholders.
This national recognition celebrates schools that demonstrate significant and sustained improvements in areas that directly impact the experience of students, families, and staff. Summerhill School stood out for its holistic approach to cultivating a positive school culture, building strong partnerships with parents and local organisations, and embedding community engagement into the heart of its ethos, with SSAT saying it was ‘some of the best practice nationally’.
Tim Harris, Headteacher of Summerhill School, expressed his pride in the achievement: "We are delighted to receive this award from the SSAT. It is a reflection of the dedication, care and belief that our staff, students, and wider community bring to Summerhill every day. Creating a strong school culture, where every voice is heard and valued has been at the centre of our ethos—and to be recognised nationally for that is truly humbling."
The award comes as Summerhill continues to build on its mission of being a forward-thinking, community-rooted school that champions the success and wellbeing of every learner.
