“It was an honour to receive this award, as a team we have worked really hard together creating a presentation about carbon reduction and waste management within our school,” said Theo Care, “We up-scaled our plan to find proactive solutions to future environmental challenges within schools. From our proposals we believe that our suggestions are achievable and can be implemented nationally to benefit everyone including future generations. I believe that we have shown how all of us can have a positive impact and leave a positive legacy for others.”
“I am extremely proud of the efforts of our Year 11 team. They have worked incredibly hard and their presentation demonstrates a real awareness of environmental issues,” said Mr Paulauskas (Head of Alps and Teacher of History), “The team have also offered solutions to these issues which are realistic, achievable and give us all something to think about in the future. Well done to them!”
“As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud that our students are the district winners of the Rotary Young Environmentalists Award 2025,” said Mr Boden (Headteacher), “The Wolgarston way is an integral part of a student's journey at our school, with one of the focal points being the ability to leave a legacy and create an impact. The winning of this award optimises our school values; I am very excited to see what else the students have in store for us as they move into our sixth form which will not only have a positive impact on our school but also our local community.”
