Rich is a nephew of the late BAFTA award winning writer Arthur Hopcraft, who also grew up in the Cannock area.
Spion Kop is based on a true story. It is a warts and all account of life growing up in a mining community and the secret about his identity kept by his family and villagers for 18 years. It is a story of family tragedy, loss and hope and provides an insightful account of life in a mining community during this period.
