Wolverhampton's former Odeon cinema to be transformed into new venue
The former Odeon cinema in Wolverhampton is set to get a new lease of life when it is transformed into a multi-purpose event venue.

Around £1 million is being spent on the historic building in Skinner Street, which will be called Astoria and the designs are said to be in keeping with the history of the building, which dates back to 1936.
The transformation is the brainchild of Wolverhampton based entrepreneur and developer Sam Evans. Last year he and a group of investors opened the food, drink and entertainment venue Bank, in an Edwardian Grade II listed premises next to the city's art gallery.
The new venue will also be home to the popular Bongo's Bingo which will be opening with a run of October dates.

Sam said: "After the successful launch of Bank last October we knew this was the right time to further invest into the city, assisting with the evening and weekend trade.
"Astoria will be a multi-purpose venue in a beautiful setting which has been transformed whilst staying true to the original elements of the building.
"One of our flagship shows, Bongo's Bingo, will now be based in the city centre and that has proved to be amazingly popular in Wolverhampton, but we will be open for club nights, Christmas party and other functions

"Ultimately we hope to see around 1,000 people each weekend coming in to the Astoria and other bars and restaurants, as part of the plan is to increase footfall and boost the night time economy – it can only be good for Wolverhampton."
The first Bongo's Bingo night will be held on October 14 and bookings for Christmas parties are also being taken at astoriawolverhampton.co.uk
