Watch: 'Chaos' as stuck lorry carrying caravan reverses over tight bridge in historic market town

A wide load escort vehicle carrying a caravan caused “absolute chaos” in a West Midlands town on Wednesday (27 May).

Mrs Chill's ice cream parlour in Bewdley, captured the moment a lorry carrying a caravan was forced to reverse over a tight bridge in the town.

The lorry can be seen trying to be guided over the very tight bridge.

Mrs Chill's ice cream parlour said on Facebook that the vehicle was “stuck by the church blocking all directions of traffic then had to reverse back over the bridge”.

The firm said: “It was all fun and games in Bewdley this afternoon. Absolute caravan chaos.

“I watched the wide load escort vehicle come over 10 mins earlier then couldn’t believe he gave the go ahead for the wagon to proceed!! Stuck by the church blocking all directions of traffic then had to reverse back over the bridge.

“What a mistake to make! Kudos to the driver for some serious skills under immense pressure.”

One user commented saying: “Imagine having to reverse that back over the bridge”. Another user added: “Whoever planned that route is an absolutely genius indeed!”.
