Flying the flag for annual Bloxwich party
War time songs and laughter were ringing out as more than 260 residents attended the annual Bloxwich Senior Citizens' Party.
This year the event held at the town's leisure centre, in High Street, commemorated the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War.

To mark the anniversary the function hall was decorated from floor to ceiling with bunting, Union Flags and red, white and blue balloons.
Guest entertainers were the 10-strong the Best of Friends band. The act featured songs, costumes and comedy for the 261 seniors who attended the day that has become a popular feature on the town's social calendar. The party is part of a series of events organised as part of Bloxwich Carnival.
Councillor Julie Fitzpatrick, of Bloxwich East, is a member of the party's organising committee.
"It's been absolutely superb and one of the best senior citizens' parties we've ever had. We gave recognition to all who have given their lives in conflict and we filled the hall with bunting and flags.
"As they left each resident was given a plate of buffet food and a cake in a box with an image of a poppy, a flag or Lord Kitchener.
"We usually get about 250 turning up, but this year we more folks came. It was just a beautiful day. It was absolutely fantastic," Councillor Fitzpatrick added.
She praised members committee member Max Hinks and his wife June for their work.
Volunteers on the day included the 196 Squadron of the Air Training Corps based in Great Wyrley along with Bloxwich Carnival Queen Lucy Shepherd, aged 18, the princess Naomi Morrall, aged 12, and rosebud Maisey Walton, aged 10.
